(NEW YORK) — AIVA Tech, an artificial intelligence startup targeting the hospitality industry, announced it has closed a $1.5 million pre-seed funding round backed by two prominent early-stage venture firms.
The round was led by David Ongchoco and Adarsh Bhatt at Comma Capital, a pre-seed and seed-stage fund founded in 2019 by University of Pennsylvania alumni, alongside Mendy Yang and Nnamdi Okike at 645 Ventures. 645 Ventures is a research-driven, founder-focused firm that has been active since 2014 and typically enters at the seed or Series A stage, giving AIVA Tech a strong institutional foundation at launch.
Co-founders Lucía Marí Sanguino and Paula Rodríguez built AIVA Tech as an intelligence layer for hotel operators — one that uses context and AI agents to help properties understand their operations and guests in real time. The platform ingests the large volumes of data hotels generate daily but rarely act on, transforming that raw information into actionable insights that allow staff to anticipate guest needs before they arise.
The company plans to use the capital to expand its engineering team, accelerate product development, and begin deploying the technology with its first hotel clients.
AIVA Tech enters a market showing significant momentum. AI-led guest experience platforms were a standout area of hospitality investment, with companies like Duve, Chatlyn, Conduit, and Canary Technologies collectively raising $152.6 million in the past year alone. Nearly all hotelier respondents in a recent Canary Technologies survey said they plan to increase IT budgets with AI as a top priority. Hotel DiveHotel Dive
AIVA Tech’s real-time data intelligence approach positions it at the intersection of operational efficiency and personalized service with two levers hoteliers are increasingly turning to as labor costs rise and guest expectations evolve. As AI becomes embedded in core hotel workflows, companies like AIVA Tech that can translate fragmented property data into predictive, actionable intelligence stand to meaningfully improve both profit margins and the guest experience at scale.
